Turkish Airlines has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records for flying to the most countries, solidifying its position as a global aviation leader. The airline achieved this distinction by operating flights to 120 countries over the past year, as verified by Guinness World Records.
This milestone was celebrated with the presentation of a record certificate at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport following Turkish Airlines' inaugural flight to Chile. While the official record counts 120 active routes, Turkish Airlines claims to serve 131 countries when including temporarily suspended routes and new additions like the Chilean route.
Turkish Airlines has held the title of flying to the most countries since 2012, but this marks the first time it has been formally recognized by Guinness World Records. The airline's extensive network spans across all six continents, with a fleet of over 490 aircraft operating to 352 destinations.
CEO Bilal Ekşi expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the airline's mission to connect people and cultures worldwide. Turkish Airlines' closest competitors, such as Qatar Airways and Air France, operate in significantly fewer countries, with 84 and 83 countries respectively. This achievement underscores Turkish Airlines' commitment to global connectivity and its role as a leading player in international aviation.
